چکیده
This paper corrects an improper expression in the economic order quantity (EOQ) model with two-warehouses and imperfect quality developed by Chung et al. [2009. A twowarehouse inventory model with imperfect quality production processes. Computers & Industrial Engineering 56, 193-197]. The modiT ed model yields a simple and corrected expression for the optimal order quantity and expected proT t per unit time. This paper then extends the above idea to a case involving a 100% inspection process with screening errors that may occur under imperfect quality and two warehouses. A model, in which it includes two scenarios, with imperfect quality and penalty costs under screening errors (Type I and Type II error) is developed. The eV ects of percentage of defective items and screening errors on the optimal solution are investigated. A numerical example is provided for the developed model and its result reveals that the order lot size and expected total proT t considering in this paper is less than Chung et al. [2009]. Managerial insights are also draw.

Two-Warehouse Inventory Model for Deteriorating Items with Time-Dependent Demand and Partial Backlogging Under Inflation
This paper deals with a two-warehouse inventory model for deteriorating items with time dependent demand and partial backlogging under inflation. It is assumed that deterioration of items follows two-parameter Weibull distribution and demand rate varies exponentially with time. Shortages are allowed and partial backlogging depends on waiting time of next replenishment. A numerical example is pr...
متن کاملRetracted: Using genetic algorithm approach to solve a multi-product EPQ model with defective items, rework, and constrained space
The Economic Production Quantity (EPQ) model is often used in the manufacturing sector to assist firms in determining the optimal production lot size that minimizes overall production-inventory costs. There are some assumptions in the EPQ model that restrict this model for real-world applications. Some of these assumptions are (1) infinite space of warehouse, (2) all of the pr...
متن کاملEPQ model with scrap and backordering under Vendor managed inventory policy
This paper presents the economic production quantity (EPQ) models for the imperfect quality items produced with/without the presence of shortage condition. The models are presented in a two-level supply chain composed of a single manufacturer and a single buyer to investigate the performance of vendormanaged inventory (VMI) policy. The total costs are minimized to obtain the optimal production ...
متن کاملA Two-warehouse Inventory Model for Deteriorating Items with Permissible Delay under Exponentially Increasing Demand
In this study, a two-warehouse inventory model with exponentially increasing trend in demand involving different deterioration rates under permissible delay in payment has been studied. Here the scheduling period is assumed to be a variable. The objective of this study is to obtain the condition when to rent a warehouse and the retailer's optimal replenishment policy that minimizes the total re...
متن کاملA credit policy approach in a two-warehouse inventory model for deteriorating items with price- and stock-dependent demand under partial backlogging
Advertisement of the product is an important factor in inventory analysis. Also, price and stock have an important role to attract more customers in the competitive business situations. Trade credit policy is another important role in inventory analysis. We have combined these three factors together in a two-warehouse inventory model and represented it mathematically. In addition, we have added...
